A group of Canadian youth travels to Nicaragua to connect with Nicaraguan street kids through a variety of cultural projects and learn about the difficult challenges that these children face. What they discover is that these children are growing up in a country that has been struggling with war, natural disasters and a massive gap between rich and poor. While the Canadian youth come to understand the harsh realities that thousands of children in Nicaragua face daily, they also get to experience their energy, creativity and optimism. They meet street kids who have formed a band with the aid of a Nicaraguan community organization called the Institute for Human Promotion. This video breaks the stereotypes of the helpless child street workers and shows these children speaking out for their rights.
