This is the story of Irene Parlby, born in London, England in 1868. Beautiful and intelligent, Irene seemed an unlikely immigrant to the rugged frontier of the Canadian Northwest. Parlby became a leading voice for farm women in Alberta from 1915 - 1935 and one of the “Famous Five” who led the fight for women to be recognized as “persons” in 1929. In French: Politicienne malgré elle: L'histoire d'irene Parlby
