This trip into the hot, humid heart of the Central African Republic is Saba's most physically challenging adventure. Travelling on foot and by canoe, she needs the help of Baaka tribeswomen to help her understand how to survive in the jungle and to reveal its most elusive creatures, hidden in the tangled vegetation. With the help of local Baaka tribes, Saba seeks out isolated jungle clearings, oases of light in the dark forest and one of the best places to find wildlife – from elephants and jungle antelope to rare red river hogs. Within the forest itself there's always the chance of a close-up encounter with lowland gorillas. Who knows what else she'll bump into on her way! |
