To mark the 100th anniversary of Einstein's theory of special relativity, this documentary with dramatised elements tells the story of how his most famous discovery, E=MC2, went from being a mere set of symbols in a notebook to a weapon of mass destruction.

The formula explains things of sheer wonder and beauty - why the sun shines and how the Big Bang created the universe - but it also underpins the most destructive force ever unleashed on the planet - the nuclear bomb.

Einstein was instrumental in getting the Americans to join the race to be the first to come up with the bomb. In the end, it was something that so appalled Einstein, that he would describe his involvement in the bomb as "his biggest blunder".

But, was it really? Did he really have a choice? Great computer animated sequence depicting the blasting of the neutrons and the resulting chain reaction.
