For generations, the animals have lived in harmony in Farthing Wood, but now even the trees are in serious danger. Humans are moving onto their land, bulldozers have filled in the pond and with the recent drought the water supply has all but dried up. Helpless against the humans, they all look doomed. Then Toad drops in, literally, from his travels, bringing with him a new vision of hope for the future. He knows a safe haven, where they could all start again - an animal sanctuary called White Deer Park. It's a daunting prospect, but the animals of Farthing Wood have nothing to lose.
