The programmes are a rich resource of visual evidence to help pupils investigate Mexico's great diversity of people, places and environments. Mexico is one of the 3 richest nations on earth in terms of the variety of its flora, fauna and landscapes: from arid deserts through snow capped volcanoes to tropical rainforest, and natural resources including silver and oil. The series is also a valuable resource for the teaching of environmental change and development issues. We explore Mexico's great economic contrasts, with many undeveloped rural villages, pockets of indigenous people and one of the largest urban areas in the world, Mexico City. These three programmes can be used alone or, in a topic-based approach, alongside the BBC Primary History unit on the Aztecs. |
