The principle predators of most jungles are cats, beautifully camouflaged in spotted coats. These are very attractive to the fur trade, but as the focus moves from jaguars to tiny jungle cats, the numbers killed increases. Attractiveness is also the problem for the cheetah. In east Africa, so many tourists want to watch them hunt that their killing grounds have become car parks. |
