The Kicking Horse may have the most storied past of all of BC's rivers, and it still remains one of the most beautiful. The Kicking Horse flows through the eastern and western ranges of the Rocky Mountains, and its swift silt-laden waters ripple over braided gravel flats, tumble over rapids and plunge over thundering waterfalls. Legendary names that make up the colourful history of the Rockies are associated with the river. Today, more than half a million people a year enjoy the natural splendours of the river valley including Wapta Falls, Takakkaw Falls and the best rafting in the Rockies.
